Walks and treks
On foot, with the luggage sent ahead
You do not need to be a mountaineer to walk in these mountains. Many routes link villages and lodges with four to six hours of walking a day, and a vehicle can meet you at the end.
We grade every walk by hours, height gained and terrain, not by adjectives. Steep steps, like the 3,500-odd steps down to Nongriat, are listed as they are.
