Questions travellers ask
Good to know
Is July a good time to visit Ladakh?
Peak season, with warm days, cool nights and all roads open. Leh and Pangong are busiest with Indian visitors, so we lean on quieter places like Tso Moriri, Hanle, Turtuk and Zanskar. Apricots ripen in Turtuk and the lower Indus. Rain in the Himalaya can briefly close roads from Manali and Srinagar. Book the best rooms in Leh and Nubra well in advance for these weeks.
What is the weather like in Ladakh in July?
Leh 11 to 25 °C, mostly dry, occasional showers. Conditions differ by altitude and coast, so check the forecast for each stop a week before you travel.
Where should we go in Ladakh in July?
We suggest Zanskar, Tso Moriri, Turtuk, Hanle. Visit Pangong midweek and stay the night to avoid the day-trip crowds.
