Questions travellers ask
Good to know
Is February a good time to visit Kerala?
Still dry and settled, slightly warmer than January, and a little quieter once the holiday crowds leave. A good month for Periyar, where animals start coming down to the lake as the forest dries, and for the beaches at Varkala and Marari. Theyyam is at its busiest in Kannur and Kasaragod. Eravikulam National Park in Munnar usually closes for Nilgiri tahr calving from early February, so check current status before you travel.
What is the weather like in Kerala in February?
Kochi 24–33 °C, dry; Munnar 11–24 °C. Conditions differ by altitude and coast, so check the forecast for each stop a week before you travel.
Where should we go in Kerala in February?
We suggest Thekkady (Periyar), Varkala, Kannur. If Eravikulam matters to you, plan Munnar for January or after the park reopens.
