Questions travellers ask
Good to know
Is November a good time to visit North East India?
Our favourite month. Rainfall drops to almost nothing, Kaziranga's main ranges are open, the Umngot at Dawki runs clear and Nongriat's paths are dry. Majuli celebrates Raas around the Kartik full moon with plays staged in the satras. Kanchenjunga is clear most mornings from Pelling. Demand is high, so book the best rooms early.
What is the weather like in North East India in November?
Guwahati 17–29 °C, Kohima 9–22 °C, almost no rain. Conditions differ by altitude and coast, so check the forecast for each stop a week before you travel.
Where should we go in North East India in November?
We suggest Majuli, Kaziranga National Park, Nongriat, Dawki and Shnongpareng. Pair Majuli Raas with Kaziranga, they are about four hours apart.
