Is May a good time to visit Nepal?
May is hot in the lowlands and hazy in the hills, with thunderstorms building in the afternoons. Mountain views come and go. It is still a good month for the Khumbu, where Everest expeditions are on the mountain, and for Mustang, which lies in the rain shadow. Bardia is at its hottest, often above 38 °C, but tiger sightings peak as animals gather at water. Buddha Jayanti draws pilgrims to Lumbini on the Baisakh full moon.
