Is March a good time to visit Ladakh?
Snow leopard trips continue into mid-March, with longer days and slightly warmer weather. The ice on the rivers begins to break. By late March some hotels in Leh reopen and the first visitors arrive. High passes are still snowbound at times, and Pangong remains frozen. A good month for winter photography and quiet monasteries. Leh's air is crisp, and roads to the lower valleys are quiet.
