Is June a good time to visit North East India?
Full monsoon. Sohra receives about 2.6 metres of rain this month alone, more than Guwahati gets in a year, and the Khasi Hills waterfalls are at full force. Kaziranga is closed, landslides affect the Tawang and North Sikkim roads, and river ferries to Majuli can be suspended. We only suggest June for travellers who want to see the rain itself from a comfortable base in Shillong.
