Questions travellers ask
Good to know
Is April a good time to visit Kerala?
Hot and sticky on the coast, with evening thunderstorms arriving late in the month. The hills are the place to be: Munnar and Wayanad sit at 700–1,600 m and stay comfortable. Vishu, the Malayalam new year, falls in mid-April, and Thrissur Pooram, Kerala's grandest temple festival, usually falls in late April or May. Indian school holidays push up hill-station demand, so book early.
What is the weather like in Kerala in April?
Kochi 26–33 °C, humid, first showers. Conditions differ by altitude and coast, so check the forecast for each stop a week before you travel.
Where should we go in Kerala in April?
We suggest Munnar, Wayanad, Thrissur. Thrissur Pooram is worth the heat if you book a balcony view in advance.
