A wellness day at Dwarika's Resort Dhulikhel

A slow day built around the wellness programme at Dwarika's Resort Dhulikhel, from morning yoga facing the Himalaya to a meditation session, a spa treatment and a lunch from the resort's organic farm, with nothing else on the schedule.

Most Nepal journeys are full of early starts and drives, and a day without plans in the middle or at the end makes the rest more enjoyable. Dwarika's Resort Dhulikhel is built for exactly that. Its wellness programme draws on yoga, meditation and spa treatments, and its kitchen uses produce from the resort's own organic farm. We book the sessions you want in advance, and the resort's team can shape a plan around your interests, your fitness and how much you want to do.

A typical day begins with a yoga session in the early morning, when the mountains are clearest, followed by a slow breakfast. Late morning might bring a guided meditation or a walk around the organic farm, then lunch made with what it produces. The afternoon is for a spa treatment and rest, and the evening for dinner as the light fades over the hills. None of it is compulsory: you can join one session, all of them, or simply sit with a book and the view.

The resort can also arrange longer programmes over several nights, which some guests choose at the end of a trek or a busy fortnight of travel. Tell us before you book if you have a specific aim, such as rest, gentle movement or better sleep, so we can discuss it with the resort. Sessions and treatments are charged separately unless included in your journey. Book ahead in October, November and March, which are the busiest months here.

Questions travellers ask

Good to know

Do I need yoga experience for the wellness day?

No. Sessions at Dwarika's Resort Dhulikhel can be adapted for beginners, and teachers adjust poses for stiffness, injuries or age. Tell us about any health conditions in advance so the resort can plan. Meditation sessions need no experience at all. If you prefer, you can skip the yoga and simply book a spa treatment and a quiet afternoon.

How many nights should I spend at Dwarika's Resort Dhulikhel?

Two nights is our usual suggestion: enough for a sunrise, one excursion to Namobuddha or Panauti, and a full day of rest. Three nights suit guests who want a proper wellness break, especially at the end of a busy journey or a trek. One night is too short, as arrival and departure take up most of the time.

Is Dhulikhel good for a honeymoon?

Yes. Dhulikhel is quiet, with long views, cool evenings and few other visitors, and Dwarika's Resort Dhulikhel offers spa treatments and calm spaces suited to couples. Two nights here pair well with Kathmandu at the start and Pokhara or Chitwan afterwards. October, November, February and March give the best chance of clear Himalayan views.
