Taj Nadesar Palace
Nadesar Palace was used by the royal family of Benares as a residence and guest house, and is now run by Taj as a small palace hotel. It stands in extensive gardens of lawns, mango trees and flowerbeds in the cantonment area, away from the noise of the old city. The suites are furnished with period pieces and are generous in size.
Its strength is privacy and calm. After a dawn boat ride or an evening at the aarti, you return to a quiet estate with attentive service and good food. It shares its grounds with the larger Taj Ganges. We recommend Taj Nadesar Palace for couples and travellers who want a peaceful base, often paired with a night or two at BrijRama Palace on the river.

How far is Taj Nadesar Palace from the ghats?
About 30 minutes by car to the drop-off point for the ghats, depending on traffic, then a short walk. The hotel arranges cars and guides for dawn boat rides and the evening aarti. It is closer to Sarnath, about 30 minutes, and to the airport road.
Is Taj Nadesar Palace better than BrijRama Palace?
They suit different needs. Taj Nadesar Palace offers privacy, gardens and calm away from the old city. BrijRama Palace is on the ghats, with the river, the aarti and the dawn boats at its door. Many of our guests split their stay between them.
